Abstract (EN)
Aim: This study was conducted to determine the effect of smoking cessation intervention given according to the web-based transtheoretic model during pregnancy on postpartum smoking relapse. Material and Method: The research was carried out as a pretest-posttest control group experimental model. The sample of the study consisted of a total of 70 women, 34 of which were in the experimental group and 36 in the control group. The Participant Identification Form, "Fagerström Nicotine Addiction Test" (FNDT), "Stages of Change Scale" (SCS), "Behavior Change Process Scale" (BCPS), "Self-Efficacy Scale/Encouraging Factors Scale" (SES/EFS) and "Decision Balance Scale" (DBS) were used to obtain the data of the study. Smoking cessation intervention was applied to the women in the experimental group during pregnancy according to the transtheoretic model. No application was made to the women in the control group. Post-test data collection forms were applied to both groups at the postpartum 4th week. Descriptive statistics, chi-square test, paired sample t-test, independent samples t-test and Cronbach Alpha analysis were used to evaluate the data. Results: Compared to the control group, it was determined that the women in the experimental group progressed positively, their FNDT average score decreased, their SCS, BCPS and DBS mean score increased, and their EFS score average decreased (p<0.05). It was determined that the women in the experimental group used less postpartum cigarettes and experienced smoking relapses compared to the control group (p<0.05). Conclusion: It has been determined that smoking cessation intervention given to women according to the web-based transtheoretic model during pregnancy has an effect on preventing postpartum smoking relapse.
