Abstract (EN)

In this study, in the theater texts written between 1940-1980 in Turkish theater, the cases of slum and unplanned urbanization which are revealed in the axis of urbanization problem will be examined. The date range specified, politically in light of the events of strategic importance, disruptions posed by the actual process of urbanization in Turkey, cultural issues that the village created by urban migration, the change in urban families, neighborhoods, social relationship models and reflections on subjects such as neighborhood will be sought in the theater texts.Said urbanization process, in evaluating its historical development line of Turkish theater, our theater in Turkey and slums through sociological findings about the city and its problems in the world and unplanned urbanization presentations will be resolved. When we approach our theater in the axis of urban problems, we encounter a number of phenomena such as identity, migration, alienation, family, neighborhood, community, neighborhood and poverty. These phenomena allow a number of analyzes on the local level, both on the traditional values of Turkish culture and on the social structures of village and urban phenomena.Particularly, in terms of both village and urban culture, slum societies, which are considered as semi-urban and semi-rural, have been accepted as 'transitional' and 'multicultural' structures in this sense. In this form, the issue of identity, which is seen as a significant problematic in slum life, has been dealt with as an element of conflict in some theater texts. In the light of our inferences from the part where we examine the sociological structures of urban and village societies, we will discuss these identity conflicts in theatrical texts on a conceptual basis. In the historical line, the plays that we examine through our basic problematic will be Köşebaşı, Fazilet Eczanesi, Keşanlı Ali Destanı, Çil Horoz, Fadik Kız, Kördövüşü and Yollar Tükendi. These plays, each of which presents a different conceptual framework within the urban phenomenon, will be analyzed in the last part of our study.
