Sociocultural structure and religious relations in Almus in the context of transitional rituals

There are many factors that form the identity of human in the social sphere. Birth, marriage and death rituals are among the most important factors. Since ancient times, various customs and traditions have occurred during these three important transition phases. In these three important periods, the predominant customs and traditions have also been closely linked to each other and have been transferred from generation to generation. In this study, birth, marriage and death in transition periods in Almus District of Tokat province were focused. In the first part, religious, social, historical and cultural information related to the towns and villages of Almus was highlighted. In the second part; birth, in the third part; marriage, in the fourth part; death ceremonies. In the fifth part, visiting places in Almus were introduced. Almus district and the villages were visitd and qualitative methods and techniques such as observation and interviews were used. Audio recordings of the interviews were recorded by video recorders. Moreover, the interviews were also written in a notebook. During the observation and visit villages, customs and traditions were photographed as well.
