Post-transition China's integration into international trade

China started a process of economic transformation in 1978. This transformation process took place within the framework of its own dynamics and without relying on any specific strategy. Unlike other transition economies, while there is an economic liberalization in China, this situation has not turned into a political liberalization. The only party, the Chinese Communist Party, still rules the country today. Adopting central planning economy between 1949-1978, China made reforms for free market economy after 1978. The results of these reforms reflected positively on many important macroeconomic indicators. China has achieved high growth rates for many years, in addition to competing with the developed countries of the world in export, import and foreign trade volumes. With the reforms made, China has become the factory of the world and has become an attractive country for many important international investors. In the beginning, thanks to the cheap labor, China created its own national brands by learning market skills from the companies that came to the country. China's membership in the World Trade Organization is also a turning point. After membership, China's foreign trade volume soared and the level of integration with the global economy increased. In today's world, economic relations and political relations present an integrity. By paying attention to this issue, China has given importance to its mutual and multilateral relations with international actors. When all these are evaluated as a whole, it has been seen that China has successfully integrated international trade after 1978.
