Abstract (EN)
Elazig-Harput is one of the most important centers in Türkiye's Eastern Anatolia Region, possessing a deep-rooted musical culture. Although the baglama, the dominant instrument of traditional Turkish folk music, holds a significant place among Turkish folk music instruments and plays a prominent role in expressing the socio-cultural life of the people, it has remained in the background in the "Kürsübaşı" gatherings that form the center of Elazig-Harput's regional music. The dominance of instruments such as the clarinet, kanun, violin, cümbüş, and oud in regional performances is noteworthy. This research focuses on the changes in the presence and prevalence of the baglama in the kürsübaşı traditions of Elazig-Harput's musical culture from historical periods to the present day. The research employs qualitative research methods, including a literature review, fieldwork with key informants, and interview techniques. As a result of this descriptive study; It has been observed that the functional prevalence of the baglama in musical gatherings has gradually increased from the past to the present, while instruments such as the clarinet, kanun, violin, cümbüş, and oud still maintain their dominant position. Key Words: Elazig, Harput Music, Kürsübaşı Nights, Baglama.
