Abstract (EN)
This work; In the Scandinavian countries (Denmark, Sweden, Norway and Finland), in the light of industrial and artistic developments from the past to the present, it has been prepared in order to evaluate a situation about Scandinavian glass which has an important place on the international scale and to eliminate the inadequacy of Turkish publications on this subject so far. In the first part of the research, which consists of five parts; The scope and method of the aim are discussed. In the definitions and histories that constitute the second part; The history of glass in the countries of Denmark, Sweden, Norway and Finland has been considered and the developments in each of the countries are examined separately. In the third section, which includes developments in the industrial glass sector in the Scandinavian countries, the industrialization activities started with the Industrial Revolution were examined. In this context, the activities of the important glass factories from the 17th century to the present and the developments in the effect of these were investigated. In the fourth chapter, which describes the developments in the field of art in the Scandinavian countries, a situation assessment was made regarding the artistic developments in Scandinavian countries in the context of the established glass museums, schools, forums and exhibitions. The fifth and last part of the thesis consists of personal applications. In this section, the production and development of glass techniques in Scandinavian countries were adapted to the traditional Turkish motifs.
