The investigation of doors belonging to traditional Afyonkarahisar houses

It has been aimed to determine the architectural characteristics of traditional Afyonkarahisar houses and the materials, sizes, construction techniques, accesories and decoration of the doors used in these houses. For this purpose, 45 doors of 22 traditional houses at the city center of Afyonkarahisar, 4 doors of 2 traditional houses in the Sincanh Gezler village, 9 doors of 4 traditional houses in Suhut district, 8 doors of 4 traditional houses in Bolvadin district have been investigated. The data at this research have been found out by systematic observation technique and by detailed inventory form. By this intention, address data, characteristics, photos of the houses and the characteristics, dimensions, drawings and photos of the doors of these houses have been collected on the inventory forms which have been prepared seperately. As a result, architectural characteristic and the characteristics of the doors used in these houses have been determined and it has been tried to develope solution proposal for longer life of these houses. Especially, it has been noticed a special solution at the territorry of Afyon which does not take place at the literature, that is the placing the door of the room into its slot as open version and a sample to relation room door and undercover wardrobe.Key Words Traditional Afyon houses, Entry and Room Doors
