Analysis of the facade design of traditional Burdur houses

Burdur, which has a rich urban fabric, hosts 74 registered traditional houses, which have witnessed many historical events, within the boundaries of the interaction transition area. These houses are used today with their original functions or with different functions assigned to them, and they continue to interact with urban users. The only architectural element from which urban users can obtain information about the buildings are the facades of these buildings. Facades, which give character to the street and the urban fabric in which they are located, are historical documents that provide information to urban users about the history, economy, socio-cultural characteristics of the period in which they belong, with their construction technology, material, fullness-emptiness, architectural elements (doors, windows, eaves, protrusions, decorations...). In this thesis study prepared from this point, the Facade Design of the registered Traditional Burdur Houses located within the Interaction Transition Area Borders of Burdur province, Central district, has been analyzed. In the process of classification, evaluation and inventory of the data collected by photographing the facades, the "typological analysis method" has been applied. In order to determine the facade design of Traditional Burdur Houses, information about the number of floors, entrance layout, facade elements has been given and illustrated with photographs. Then, the facade design of 74 registered Traditional Burdur Houses has been examined in detail according to their inventory number, in the light of this information, the facade typologies of the houses have been created and a housing inventory has been prepared. With this scientific resource, it is aimed to contribute to the science of architecture as well as to the Burdur City Building Archive.
