Software based solution approach to traditional form based business management

Nowadays, the use of office automation systems is almost inevitable. These systems allow automation of most administrative tasks carried out by experts. The correct use of these systems significantly changes the way they run their daily business by automating the tasks performed by professionals. When office automation was mentioned at first, computer, printer, scanner and fax machines came to mind, now these systems started to leave their places to applications running in computer or internet environment with the developing technology. The necessity of processing information reveals the concept of digital information management. Because information has become unprocessable by traditional methods. In the study, a rule-based expert system, which is the simplest form of artificial intelligence, is proposed. For this purpose, firstly, basic concepts of artificial intelligence and expert systems are discussed and explained in detail. Afterwards, the concept of decision-making, decision support systems and rule-based expert systems are mentioned and the effects of these systems on decision-making activities are included. In the last part of the study, the rule-based expert system developed to identify errors in payment requests to insurance companies was analyzed and the results were evaluated. The work done as a result of using the system differentiates positively with respect to the work done with traditional methods in terms of efficiency, efficiency and speed.
