Transformation of content from traditional media into social networks: The example of Cüneyt Ozdemir Youtube channel

News programs, which play a vital role in traditional television broadcasting, have also become a popular content on online video platforms, thanks to the rising convergence between television and the internet. As a result of the newly-developing nature of the online broadcasting media, there are certain differences between productions on television and the internet in terms of both content and form. In this context, the standards related to television productions have gained a new form and secured a place on the new media platforms. This study focuses on the formal differences and commonalities between news programs on television and similar contents on online broadcasting platforms. Within this scope, the program "5N1K" on the television channel CNN Türk, anchored by Cüneyt Özdemir, and the videos he broadcasts on his personal Youtube channel will be comparatively examined. The fact that Cüneyt Özdemir produces content both for traditional media and the new media platforms constitutes a convenient example for this study. The aforementioned contents have been examined through descriptive analysis and findings have been evaluated accordingly.
