The Architectural characteristics of traditional Urfa houses

The purpose of this thesis is to examine the architectural characteristics of Urfa houses. Informations on the topography, natural conditions, history, social structure and historical elements of ancient city center of Urfa are given in this thesis. 14 houses which take place in this historic center and would direct this study are introduced and architectural characteristics of Urfa houses are also examined in detail. The relations between the houses in this historic center, and same type of houses and the houses in the other regions of Turkey are searched. The importance of Urfa Houses in the architecture of Anatolian houses has been emphasized. Besides that a general evaluation of Urfa Houses has been made. Ill
