Prof. Dr. Hayati Aksu Income distribution and to provide fairness in the distribution process is one of the important phenomena in terms of socio-economical point of view for both Turkey and other countries of the world. In spite of its importance studies in the field are insufficient, dispersed and studies with applications are not carried out in close time zones. All of these factors directed us o carry out a study in the field. The study consists of four parts. In the first part, basic concepts about the subject are provoked and then income distribution approaches and methods of measuring income distribution are analyzed. The second part is about kinds and determinants of income distribution. In this part, to the extent that data allow, the situation in Turkey is revealed. The third part is a literature research and lists major studies about income distribution in Turkey. In the last part of the study, a field research, which is carried out in the light of theoretical framework, is placed. The subject is tested with a questionnaire for Erzurum province center. As a result of this study, it is found out that income distribution, which was already tainted according to the data on hand, became even deeper.
