Bibliometric analysis of publications in the field of forensic science in developing countries

Abstract (EN)
Objective: In this study, it is aimed to perform bibliometric and content analysis of the articles published in the field of forensic sciences in the last ten years in developing countries. Materials and Methods: Developing countries, "article" and "review article" were selected in the Web of Science database, the publication language was marked as "English", and the filtering was done by selecting "legal medicine" in the research category and "Medicine Legal" in the WoS category. As a result, bibliometric and content analysis of 1447 publications were made. Microsoft Excel and VOSviewer 1.16.18 software were used for analysis. Findings: As a result of the bibliometric and content analysis for 1447 research articles, it was determined that there were 59 countries, 1266 institutions, 5419 authors in total; it was found that a total of 7921 different keywords were used and the articles were published in 18 academic journals. The most productive developing country is the People's Republic of China; the most prolific authors are Kanchan T., Zhang S. and Krishan K.; the most productive institution is the "Forensic Science Institute" in the People's Republic of China; it has been determined that the most productive academic journal is the "Journal of Forensic Sciences". Conclusion: The publications in the field of forensic sciences published in the last ten years in developing countries are oriented towards topics such as forensic anthropology and forensic genetics, and the most productive countries such as the People's Republic of China, India, Turkey, Brazil contribute as much as developed countries in the number of publications.
