Evaluation of the effects of advanced platelet-rich fibrin and concentrated growth factor liquids on dental implant osseointegration

Abstract (EN)
Introduction and Aim: In our study, concentrated growth factor(CGF) obtained by centrifuging the patient's own blood and advanced platelet-rich fibrin(A-PRF) liquids were applied to the implant cavity and surface. Thus, it was aimed to ensure that the osseointegration process would start earlier by ensuring a faster arrival of growth factor and healing mediators in the region, and thus, the time waited for the osseointegration process and the loading of the superstructure would be shortened. Material and Method: In our split-mouth study, a total of 32 patients including two separate study groups in different patients and a control group were included. While the CGF liquid was applied to the implant cavities and surfaces prepared in the study group of 16 patients, A-PRF liquid was applied to the study group of the other 16 patients. Conventional implant application was performed in the control groups of both groups. The torque values during the implantation were also recorded, and Resonance Frequency measurements were performed immediately after implantation with the Penguin RFA device and at postoperative weeks 2, 4, 6 and 12. Result: As a result of the statistical analysis, there was an increase of 5.88 ± 3.16 in ISQ in the group applied with the CGF liquid and an increase of 1.94 ± 2.82 in ISQ in the CGF control group, and as the total main effect, there was an increase of 3.91 ± 3.56 in ISQ value in the CGF group. Similarly, there was an increase of 3.63 ± 1.67 in ISQ in the group applied with the A-PRF liquid and an increase of 0.81 ± 2.20 in ISQ in the A-PRF control group, and as the total main effect, there was an increase of 2.22 ± 2.39 in ISQ in the A-PRF group. Conclusion: We observed that the ISQ values decreased until week 4 in the control groups, and although this decrease started to increase again after week 6, the ISQ values increased regularly and continuously in the study groups. On the other hand, when we examined the ISQ values of the control groups measured at week 12, it was concluded that we also obtained higher values even after surgery, however, this increase was not statistically significant. In the study groups, we concluded that the CGF and A-PRF liquid had a statistically significant positive effect on healing at the end of 12 weeks. Accordingly, the A-PRF and CGF liquids had a statistically significant effect on ISQ values (p<0.001).
