Abstract (EN)
The aim of this study is to determine whether physical exercise has a predictive effect on the psychological well-being of young adults. At the same time, it was also examined whether there was a difference in psychological well-being levels in terms of various demographic characteristics according to age, gender, educational status, employment status, and having any illness. The sample of the study consists of 240 people who are between the ages of 22- 35, living in Istanbul Kağıthane Neighborhood, and who do not engage in any physical activity at least 3 days a week, as the control group.On the other hand, the experimental group consists of 166 people, aged between 22-35, from the Mat Sports Hall in Istanbul's Kağıthane Neighborhood and who exercise regularly at least 3 days a week.International Physical Activity Assessment Questionnaire for Young Adults Short Form (IPAQ Short Form), Short Sympton Inventory (KSE), Warwick-Edinburgh Mental Well-Being Scale (WEMWBS) and Personal Information Form prepared by the researcher were used as measurement tools of the study. applied to those who participated in the study. Obtained data were analyzed through quantitative research technique, parametric tests analysis and it was found that Physical Exercise predicted Psychological Well-Being levels of young adults. In addition, it was concluded that regular participation in physical activities and working in any job predicted psychological well-being levels.
