Abstract (EN)
The world is facing a growing youth unemployment problem. Today, both developed and the developing countries are failing to increase employment opportunities for young people. The number of unemployed youth increased around to 82 million with the latest global crisis. Youth have always been in a disadvantaged position in labour markets. But today, more youth are poor or underemployed than ever before. The issue is not only creating jobs for youth, but also to create ?decent jobs.?Finding a decent job is what young people want most in Turkey. Increased youth unemployment rates in recent years have brought a sense of urgency to the challenge of youth employment. Being accepted as a young country by its population demography, Turkey has to bring the dynamism of the youths to the economy. More specific employment policies needed to be implemented to solve the youth unemployment problem. There is a need of a national employment strategy for the youth at Turkey.Key Words: 1.
