Youth unemployment relationship between economic growth: In Turkey

There are two important socio-economic concept in today's societies. One is unemployment and the other is economic growth. These concepts are those that directly concern communities and individuals and, under normal circumstances also affect the future of policy makers or power holders. The unemployment of young individuals which is the guarantee of the future for each country, is a social reality not far from these contexts. As a matter of fact, youth unemployment triggers the psychological crisis on individuals and causes confusion in societies for a long time. Long job search times result in unregistered working conditions and individual and social economics losses in many unfavorable conditions. Unemployment growth in economies has been encountered lately. Every day in the developing world, there is a period in which the efficiency that the mind replaces physical labor is essential. Unemployed growths occur in economies with capital-based growth instead of lobar factor. As a matter of fact, developing technological structures continue to replace physical power and productions that make a difference in added value are made. While following the developments in the world, while poverty and backwardness continue in the remaining countries, it show itself in serious unemployment. Undoubtedly, it is insufficient to search for the causes of increasing youth unemployment in changing growth models. There are some micro and macro causes of this unemployment. Therefore, it was aimed to examine such an important issue in the study. . How and in what direction does the relationship between youth unemployment and economic growth occur is the main purpose of the study. In the econometrics model created for this purpose, youth unemployment means independent variable and economic growth dependent variable. In the study, unit root tests were applied to determine the stationary properties of the variables. According to the test result, the variables were stable, aware. For the variables that show the same level of stability, the Johansen Cointegration test was used to determine the long-term relationship. According to the test, it was concluded that the long-term relationship exists. A causality test was applied to determinet the direction of the realationship between the variables. According to the test result, it was found that the gross domestic product was the cause of youth unemployment.
