Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study is to analyze the important factors that affect the process starting with vocational choice and university education and continuing with working life for young people in Kyrgyz society and how they perceive this process from a sociological perspective. The study seeks to understand the attitudes of young people towards unemployment, how they decide to choose a profession, and certain concerns about employment. Another main purpose of this study is to identify the current employment problems and the underlying dynamics that affect the employment of young people negatively. Two quantitative and qualitative research methods were applied simultaneously. Methodologically, in-depth interviews were conducted with 14 university graduates and a survey was conducted with 99 senior students from the universities in Bishkek and the information and findings used in the study were collected. The results of the study revealed that young people graduated from universities in Kyrgyzstan have important problems in employment and that most young do not prefer to work in the fields they graduated from, for various reasons, especially because of low wages. In addition, as a result of this study, it is seen that the labor market policy in youth employment in Kyrgyzstan has not reached a clear result since it is at the beginning stage and therefore it is not yet possible to find solutions to the employment problems of young people.
