Abstract (EN)
Objective: This research was carried out to determine the relationship between the gender role attitudes of adults of reproductive age and their attitudes towards family planning. Method: The research was designed as descriptive and relationship seeking. The population of the research consisted of young adults who applied to Samsun Training and Research Hospital, Gynecology and Children's Hospital Family Planning Polyclinic, and the sample consisted of a total of 271 people, 198 women and 73 men, who applied between May and October 2022 and met the inclusion criteria. The data of the research were collected by the researcher using the "Personal Information Form", "Gender Roles Attitude Scale (TCRTS)" and "Family Planning Attitude Scale (APTS)" with face-to-face interview technique. Evaluation of the obtained data was carried out using descriptive statistics using the SAS 9.4 package program. , Shapiro-Wilk test, independent intergroup t test, analysis of variance (F test), Pearson correlation analysis, Pearson correlation analysis and multivariate stepwise regression analysis were used. The results were evaluated at the p<0.05 significance level. Result: The TCRTÖ total score average (144.25±22.88) of the participants in the study was found to be high, and the APTO total score average (129.46±26.26) was above the average. It was determined that there was a statistically significant difference between the TCRT total score average and the participants' age, gender, education, status, income level, number of children, desired number of children, and the person who made the decision to use AP (p<0.05). It was determined that there was a statistically significant difference between the APTO total score average and gender, educational status, employment status, residence, number of children, desired number of children, the main source of information about AP and the person who made the decision to use AP (p<0.05). It was found that there was a significant, positive, moderate relationship between the participants' APTÖ total and TCRTS total score averages (r=0.30786, p<.0001). Conclusion: In the study, it was determined that the participants had egalitarian attitudes towards gender roles and their attitudes towards family planning were positive. It was observed that as the participants' egalitarian attitudes towards gender roles increased, their positive attitudes towards family planning also increased. It is recommended to implement nursing care to increase individuals' egalitarian attitudes towards gender roles regarding family planning and to examine the effectiveness of the practices.
