Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study was to assess the relationship between toileting behavior and bladder health in young adult women. A total of 46 healthy women aged between 18 and 30 were included in the study. After questioning the physical and sociodemographic characteristics of the women, toileting behaviors were assessed using the Toileting Behavior Scale for Women's Voiding Behavior, while bladder health was evaluated using the PLUS 2-Daily Bladder Health Symptom Diary and Bladder Diary. No significant relationship was found between toileting behavior scale and daily voiding frequency, nighttime voiding frequency, average voided volume, daily fluid intake, average fluid intake, PLUS voiding frequency, ease of initiating voiding, and continuous urine flow among young adult women (p > 0.05). It was found that toileting behaviors were similar between young adult women who had given birth and those who had not (p > 0.05). The mean value of the Toileting Behavior Scale for Women's Voiding Behavior was higher in individuals with moderate to excellent overall health status (p < 0.05). As a result of this study, it was observed that there was no relationship between toileting behaviors and bladder health in young adult women. It was also determined that women with good overall health had worse toileting behaviors.
