Abstract (EN)

Whether there is a relationship between attachment styles, mindfulness and relationship satisfaction is a topic that has been increasingly researched recently. Attachment is a concept that reveals the mental, social and emotional effects of the bond felt towards different individuals, extending from infancy to death, and is one of the factors that affect people's conscious awareness and relationship satisfaction. This study was carried out to examine attachment styles, mindfulness levels and relationship satisfaction in young adult romantic relationships, and to examine how they are related and whether they change according to each other in the light of the data obtained. In addition, it was also examined whether the variables differed according to some demographic characteristics obtained from the participants. The sample of this research consists of a total of 403 young adults, 281 of whom are women and 122 of whom are in romantic relationships between the ages of 18-35. The Relationship Scales Questionnaire, the Conscious Awareness in Romantic Relationship Scale and the Relationship Satisfaction Scale were used as data collection tools. Conscious Awareness in Romantic Relationships and Relationship Satisfaction Scale scores did not show a statistically significant difference according to attachment styles (p> 0.05). It was determined that there was a statistically significant, positive and weak correlation between the Conscious Awareness in Romantic Relationship Scale and the Satisfaction with the Relationship Scale scores (r= 0.193; p<0.01). It was determined that there was a statistically significant, positive and weak correlation between the Relationship Scales Questionnaire's Secure Attachment dimension and the Romantic Relationship Conscious Awareness Scale scores (r= 0.147; p<0.01). There was a statistically significant difference between the attachment dimension of the Relationship Scales Questionnaire (r= 0.188; p<0.01), fearful (r=0.193; p<.01) and preoccupied (r= 0.120; p<0.05) and Relationship Satisfaction Scale scores. It was determined that there was a weak and significant positive relationship. No statistically significant relationship was found between other variables (p>0.05). As a result, in our study, it was found that mindfulness and relationship satisfaction in romantic relationships did not make a significant difference according to attachment styles. These findings may contribute to future studies.
