Abstract (EN)

The research was conducted by descriptive and correlational design to examine the relationship between family planning attitude of young adults and gender perception and religious orientation. Individuals applying for pre-marital counseling to Refika Baysal Community Health Center of Bolu Provincial Health Directorate were included in the study. The sample size was determined as 588 with GPower 3.1.9.2 program. The data were collected by using Personal Information Form, Family Planning Attitude Scale, Gender Scale and Religious Orientation Scale. Frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, Pearson correlation analysis and regression analysis were used to evaluate the data. As a result of the study, it was found that the Famil Planning Attitude Scale score of young adults (123.64±19.29) was above average. Participants' gender levels are (85.43± 16.76) and religious orientation levels are (57.72± 8.27). It was found that there was a positive, moderate, meaningful relationship (r = 0.459, p <0.001) between the gender perception of the participants and family planning attitude, and a weak, negative and meaningful relationship between their religious orientation and family planning attitudes (r = -0,173, p = 0.01, p <0.05). In the regression analysis to determine the relationship between family planning attitude and gender perception and religious orientation, it was found that gender perception explained 21.1% of the variance (R2 = 0.211). In the model, it was determined that gender perception and religious orientation variables explained 21.9% of the family planning attitude together. It was found that religious orientation was a significant variable in explaining the attitude of family planning (t = -9.391 p <0.001) but the effect was very low. It was determined that the most important variable affecting family planning attitude was gender perception.
