Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study is to examine the relationship between perceived parental attitudes and subjective well-being of working young adult individuals and their career adaptability. For this purpose, the sample of the study consists of 761 teachers, 459 (60.3%) female and 302 (39.7%) male, working in official educational institutions affiliated to the Ministry of National Education in the province of Şanlıurfa in the 2022-2023 academic year, selected by random sampling method. "Personal Information Form", "Abridged Perceived Parental Attitude Scale", "Subjective Well-Being Scale" and "Career Compatibility Scale" were used to collect the data of the study. Since the data of the study did not show normal distribution, Spearman's Rho Correlation Analysis was used for the relationship between the variables in the analysis of the data, and Mann Whitney U and Kruskal Wallis H tests were used to analyze the variables in the study in terms of the information in the personal information form. According to the findings of the study, it was concluded that there is a moderate positive relationship between career adaptability and subjective well-being (Rho= .468**, p<.01). As the subjective well-being of young adults increases, it can be said that there is a moderate increase in career adjustment. When the relationship between career adaptability and Perceived Parenting Attitudes was examined, it was determined that there was a statistically significant relationship (p<0.05), except for Perceived Mother and Father Rejection attitudes (p>0.05). In addition, it was found that young adults' perceived parental attitudes, subjective well-being and career adjustment did not show a statistically significant difference according to the gender variable (p>0.05). The research findings were discussed in the light of the relevant literature, and suggestions for future studies were presented.
