The correlation between attitude, satisfaction and happiness levels of the youth towards leisure activities: Sample of Manisa youth centers

The purpose of our research is to determine the relationship between the attitudes, satisfaction and happiness levels of individuals receiving services from youth centers operating under the Manisa Youth and Sports Provincial Directorate for leisure activities and comparing them according to various demographic variables. The research universe consists of individuals who receive service from youth centers within the Manisa Youth and Sports Provincial Directorate of the Ministry of Youth and Sports in 2019. And also the sample group was formed by 441 people by choosing the appropriate sample model among the youth. Personal information form, Leisure Attitude Scale (LAS), Oxford Happiness Scale Short Form ( OHSSF) and Free Time Satisfaction Scale (FTSS) were applied to the research group. Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) was used to test the factor structure of the scales. Independent samples T Test, ANOVA and MANOVA tests were examined in order to test significant differences in dependent variables in terms of independent variables. Post-Hoc Turkey was used to determine the source of significant differences in ANOVA and MANOVA analysis tables, Non-parametric equivalents were made when assesment instruments did not provide parametric conditions. The findings are commeted and discussed according to the literature. When the ANOVA analysis results are analyzed, it is determined that there is a significant difference in the average scores of the participants according to the "education status" variable. When the results are analyzed, it is observed that there is a significant difference between the total average scores of the participants attending "primary education" and the average scores of the participants who attend "university" and "high school" education according to the "educational status" variable and determined that the participants who attend "primary education" have higher average scores on OHSSF than those attending "university" and "high school" education. Research shows the importance of prioritizing and justifying the free time attitude, which is a determinant of happiness, as direct and indirect predictors of free time satisfaction. In this respect, it was determined that the participation of the young people, who constitute the sample group of our study, to the activities held in the youth centers within the Ministry of Youth and Sports, increased their free time attitude and satisfaction, at the same time their level of happiness increased.
