Abstract (EN)

The purpose of this study is to examine the levels of cyber victimization, cyberbullying, and stress coping among students at Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University in terms of various demographic variables. This study employed a quantitative design. Data were collected through three different measurement tools applied to the participants: a Personal Information Form, the Revised Cyberbullying Inventory for University Students revised by Tanrıkulu, and the Coping Styles Scale developed by Durak and Şahin. The research population consisted of undergraduate students at Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University, and the sample consisted of 393 students selected from this population using simple random sampling. The obtained data were analyzed using IBM SPSS Statistics 22. In the analysis process, descriptive statistics and parametric analysis techniques were used to examine intergroup differences. Research findings indicate that cyberbullying behaviors are generally low-level, while stress-coping skills are significantly affected by variables such as income level and internet usage duration. While gender is not a single determining factor, different trends in some digital behaviors have been observed between male and female individuals. Cyberbullying perpetration and exposure have been found to be associated with numerous demographic and individual factors, including relationship status, academic field, class level, GPA, and social media usage habits. These results highlight the need for policies that promote ethical communication in digital environments and suggest that individuals, particularly in low-income groups, need supportive programs to improve their stress-coping skills. Furthermore, identifying groups more vulnerable to digital risks and developing protective intervention strategies for these groups is crucial for both individual well-being and improving online safety.
