Abstract (EN)
Rapidly increasing population, industrialization and destruction of natural resources have brought about the problems of climate change and global warming. Bu sorunların ana kaynağı havadaki zararlı gazlar, özellikle karbondioksittir. Carbon, which is one of the main components of carbon dioxide, is stored in soil, water and forests. Many countries that have signed the global climate change convention are obliged to calculate the amount of pollutant gases stored in forest areas and released into the air. Usually the amount of carbon held in forests; It is calculated based on the biomass account. The first country-wide data were calculated by ASAN using the coefficients developed separately for coniferous and broad-leaved forests depending on the global location of our country. The increase in forest areas in our country shows that there is a significant increase in the amount of carbon held in forest areas. Within the scope of the study, carbon storage amount was calculated according to two different methods in Karadere Forestry Management Directorate and it was aimed to reveal the difference between them. As a result of the study, the amount of carbon stored above ground was calculated as 1123,36 kg/ha.
