Özet (EN)
This study aimed to examine the relationship between youth leaders' personality traits and their levels of quiet quitting. The research was conducted among youth leaders employed in youth centers. The study sample consisted of 357 volunteer youth leaders (180 females and 177 males) with a mean age of 32.60 ± 4.07 years. To assess personality traits, the Turkish version of the Ten-Item Personality Inventory (TIPI), originally developed by Gosling et al. (2003) and adapted by Atak (2013), was used. The Quiet Quitting Scale (QQS) developed by Anand et al. (2023) was employed to measure participants' quiet quitting levels. For data analysis, independent samples t-tests were used for two-group comparisons, and one-way ANOVA was applied for comparisons across multiple groups. When the assumption of homogeneity of variances was met, Tukey's HSD test was conducted for post-hoc analyses; otherwise, Tamhane's T2 test was utilized. The relationships between the dimensions of personality traits and quiet quitting were analyzed using Pearson's correlation coefficient, with the level of statistical significance set at p < .05. The findings indicated significant associations between youth leaders' personality traits and their quiet quitting tendencies. In particular, conscientiousness and agreeableness were found to be negative predictors of quiet quitting, suggesting that individuals with higher levels of these traits were less likely to engage in quiet quitting behaviors. Overall, this study provides valuable insights for enhancing leadership processes, personnel selection, employee motivation, and organizational commitment within youth centers. Accordingly, the research holds substantial potential to contribute to both the academic literature and practical implementations in the field.
