The effect of digital citizenship levels of youth leaders working in youth centers on lifelong learning trends

From the moment the concept of technology entered our lives, it not only provides many conveniences, but also continues to include new concepts in our lives and offer positive opportunities to human life. Mankind has gathered the facilitating elements around it to make the life cycle more comfortable and has always taken slow and sometimes fast steps towards self-realization. This struggle will continue forever and many new concepts and new formations will continue to be integrated into our lives. One of these concepts that entered our lives is the concept of digital citizenship, which is another dimension of the concept of citizenship. In our research, it is aimed to examine the effect of digital citizenship levels of youth leaders working in youth centers on lifelong learning tendencies. Youth leaders working in Youth Centers in 81 provinces in Turkey constituted the research population. The sample group consisted of 466 youth leaders working actively in youth centers. In the study, the 33-item "Digital Citizenship Scale" (DVÖ) developed by İşman and Canan Güngören (2014) and the 27-item "Lifelong Learning Tendency Scale" (YBÖE) developed by Coşkun and Demirel (2010) were used. In addition, the "Demographic Information Form" prepared by the researcher and consisting of 8 questions was used as a data collection tool. Our research was designed in the descriptive survey model, which is one of the quantitative research methods. In data analysis, t-test, Anova test, (one-way analysis of variance test) were performed, and Lsd and Tukey tests were also applied. Correlation test was used to measure the relationship between the subdimensions of the scales, and the regression test was used to measure the effect between the two scales. The relationship between the "DVS" and "YBIE" scales was examined by Pearson correlation analysis, and it was found that "DAI" sub-dimensions "DPI", except for "Digital Health and Life" sub-dimension, had a highly significant relationship with "Motivation" and "Persistence" sub-dimensions. This significant relationship was determined as positive. The sub-dimensions of "Digital Ethics", "Digital Rules and Responsibilities", "Digital Law" and "Digital Health and Life" were found to have a 8 highly significant positive relationship with the "Lack of Learning Regulation" and "Lack of Curiosity" sub-dimensions. While the "Digital Ethics" sub-dimension significantly increased the level of lifelong learning tendency, it was observed that the "Digital health" sub-dimension increased significantly on the YBIE scale. Dijital vatandaşlık düzeyi yaşam boyu öğrenme eğilimi üzerinde %14,9 oranında bir etkiye sahip olduğu belirlenmiştir.
