Effectivenes of school directors in public high schools in relation to implementation of social pursuits

The broad objectives and aims of education should be to provide the development of a pupil in every aspects and to make them strong physically and mentally. Education should not merely equip a student to adjust with society to its customs and conventions, but it should enable him to bring desirable changes in the society. Another aim of education is to help student acquire the capacities of understanding and knowledge and the skills which will help him develop his personality as well as to achieve the issues not obtained in classes at school.To construct a society all of whose individuals have their own self-confidence and assesment can only be possible through social activities. Only if school principals are efficient enough can it be possible to accomplish these goals. School principals should focus on social and cultural training on behalf of enabling school more effective and productive and getting pupils to acquire desired and preferred behavioural forms. To be able to get social and cultural training, social activities should be brought into focus as well. Considering the thought that efficient principals and social pursuits take an important place in modern education approach, the purpose of the study is to research the effectivenes of school directors in public high schools in relation to implementation of social pursuits. While gathering the data of the research, the issue was looked up in related documents, notions were presented and described and also the significant role of social pursuits was expressed with regard to discipline the relationship among school-family-environment; lastly, the connection between violence and social pursuits has been taken into consideration. In the study, by means of the questionnaire which was prepared with the consultancy of experts, the teachers? thoughts concerning their principals? efficiency in implementation of social activities were evaluated. While the datas, obtained from these studies, were statistically being appraised the programme ?SPSS? was used and the results were discussed and some recommendations were stated.Key words: social pursuits, efficiency, school principal, public high school
