Abstract (EN)
Traffic routing is a vital issue for communication networks. Misrouting may be areason of bottlenecks in communication networks even if they have enoughcapacity. Proper routing is a complex issue and needs to be evaluated in manyways. For a communication network, major conditions are determined by capacityplanning and minor conditions are determinde by periodical operations. Thesuccess of periodical operations depend on the traffic transfer by using all networkresources. In order to provide balanced traffic diversity, network carrier unitsshould be set with precalculated weight values. For networks offering national andinternational services, link setting is a difficult issue. Link weight setting is nearlyimposible to be obtained by analytical or numerical methods. In this study, geneticalgorithm is used to obtain link weight values. It is shown that genetic algorithmoffers more successful results for relatively large networks.
