PARAMETER EXTRACTION OF A SEMICONDUCTIVE DIODE BY USING GENETIC ALGORITHMS SUMMARY Key Words: Genetic Algorithms, Optimization, General Diode Equation This study proposes that Genetic Algorithms are viable candidates as tools for parameter optimization of the SPICE diode equation. A description of Genetic Algorithms is discussed, general diode equation in contrast of the SPICE diode equations are examined and a software implementation is introduced with comparative results of PSICE, HP4155B parameter analyzer, genetic algorithm software and actual measurements. These results showed that the Is value of the diode equation that was found by GA software gave the closest value to the real measurements. xi
