Özet (EN)

An optimal operation and planning of energy generation systems has a significant place in energy generation. Generally optimal operation of an energy system means the minimization of the cost of the used fuel. However, today a wide use of fossil-based fuels in generation units requires to consider the environmental pollution caused by generation units in the solution of the problems. Therefore, in this study, the solution of environmental economic power dispatch problems by genetic algorithm method, considering the minimization of the fuel cost as well as environmental pollution has been explored. Problems that have been handled are ; the power system which contains only thermal generation units, the power system which contains limited energy supply and normal thermal generation units, the short term hydrotermal coordination problem and the short term hydrotermal coordination problem that contain limited energy supply thermal units. In order to convert the environmental economic power dispatch problem, which is one of the multi-objective optimization problems, into an optimization problem with one objective, the weighted sum scalarization and the conic scalarization methods have been used. The solutions of the scalarized problems have been determined by genetic algorithm. The solutions found by using two different methods in the scalarization of four different problems have been compared and the results have been discussed.
