Abstract (EN)
Together with industrialization, energy requirement of the countries is increasing day by day. It is expected that petroleum and natural gas usage will be increased in the next years. Anxiety on accessing and dominating over energy sources increases the challenge between countries. Turkey is between countries of energy producing and energy requiring. This position takes Turkey to the center of the energy challenge and makes Turkey an energy bridge.EU countries are also more and more out-dependent. As this situation turns into lack of security gradually, it is being tried to find alternatives. In such a case, Turkey is becoming important as a candidate country.In this study, the importance of the membership of Turkey to EU is trying to be highlighted based on EU countries an Turkey have common interests on energy policies and Turkey?s geopolitical situation as being an energy bridge. Turkey is an indispensable country especially on energy area. The characteristic of Turkey as an energy corridor and terminal is examined as pipelines are preferred to reach to energy cheaper and economical, supported by current projects.Key Words: EU Energy Policies, Enlargement, Russia, Turkey Energy Policies, Pipelines Project
