Abstract (EN)

In this study, physical and mechanical properties of steel fiber reinforced cement based composites produced by expanded vermiculite at elevated temperatures were investegated. Mixtures were prepared with expanded vermiculite to cement ratios of 4, 6, and 8 by volume, volume fractions of 0%, 0,5%, 1,0%, and 1,5% for steel fiber were used. Dimensions of 40x40x160 mm specimens were exposed to 20°C, 300°C, 600°C and 900°C temperatures. Specimens were cooled to room temperature in air and flexure and compressive strength and ultrasonic pulse velocity of speciments were investigated.With the results of the experiments, effect of expanded vermiculite to cement ratio and steel fiber content on the physical and mechanical properties of steel fiber reinforced cement based composites produced by expanded vermiculite at elevated temperatures. Cement based lightweight composites were produced with dry density of 795-1295 kg/m3, compressive strength of 6,0-15,0 Mpa and flexural strength of 2,5-6,2 Mpa at room temperature. Addition of steel fiber to the mixtures, resistane of specimens to temperature increased according to control mixtures. At elevated temperatures, flexure and compressive strength and ultrasonic pulse velocity of speciments were decreased.
