Abstract (EN)

In this study, an advanced modern WAN (Wide Area Network) has been designed for the systems like Radar Systems that carries critical data and Radio Communication Systems that carries real-time data. All the issues has been started to be explained from the fundamentals of the network technology. What is more, different type of WAN choices and some of the WAN design criterias have been also explained in detail. Designed WAN has different operational data flows between main centers and remote stations called radyo stations and radar stations that support a redundant systems architecture. In the radyo stations the analog audio has been compressed and converted to digial and by the advanced IP adressing techniques it has been send to the centers through same wires that has been used for the radar data transfer. For the data transfer between the long distances like cities, the service providers like telecommunication companies and satellite companies? existing network (infrastructure) has been used. The main link called terrestrial link is considered as the link provided by the local telecommunication company and the backup link called satellite link is considered as the link provided by the satellite company. In case, the failure of the main link, by the help of the static and dynamic routing protocols, an automatic switching from terrestrial to satellite link has been configured. VPLS (Virtual Private LAN Service) technology that has just been started to be used nowadays and provides communication from multi point to multi point based on ethernet protocol has been used for the terrestrial link. What is more, TDM (Time Division Multiplexing) technology which has been started to be used long time ago also has been implemented for the locations where it was needed. QoS parameters (bandwidth, latency, jitter, packet loss) has been configured for each related link and also CoS (Class of Service) defining has been done for the traffics that has priority to pass. The data traffics has been classified as real--time (voice), critical data (radar data) and standard data (management telnet sessions). By the help of different software for network performance analysis all the QoS and CoS tests are done and the results are analysed with the related graphics and tables.Key Words : Modern Radar Network, WAN, Real-Time&Critical Systems, VPLS, QOS, COS, Terrestrial and Satellite Network.
