Abstract (EN)

In our study, we examined the Iranian cinema?s narrative structure in the context of realistic cinema theory and Iran?s unique cultural and political structure. For this purpose, the realistic theory and movements were examined and the main features of them were determined firstly. Then, the historical development of cinema in Iran and factors in the background of it were examined. For use in film analysis, the cinematografic features of Iranian cinema were classified in the context of realistic theory that were determined in the first part of the thesis. In the light of information collected, the best known examples of Iranian cinema ? Kiarostami?s Where is My Friend Home(1987), Mejidi?s Children of Heaven(1997), Panahi?s The White Baloon(1995) and Mirror(1997)- were analyzed. As a result, we determined that the Iranian cinema has the basic features of realistic movement. But it adds its cultural features and create a new and special cinematografic language.
