Abstract (EN)
The aim of this research is to analyze the effects of "Individual Intervention Based on Reality Therapy" practice, which consists of 10 sessions and has been developed within the scope of this research, on the levels of psychological needs, locus of control and responsibilities and generally lives of the individuals released on probation due to harmful substance use. In the study "convergent parallel design" that is one of the mixed method researches has been used. In this context, the single subject experimental design has been applied in the quantitative dimension of the research. On the other hand, for the qualitative dimension of the research a case study has been done. The quantitative data of the research have been collected via Scale of Psychological Needs, Locus of Control Scale, Scale of Responsibility; the qualitative data has been collected through interviews and questionnaires. Additionally, Pete's Pathogram has been applied. 7 people (2 women, 5 men), who were released on probation due to harmful substance use, participated to the research. For each of the subjects, individual intervention was performed in 10 sessions. When the obtained qualitative and quantitative results were analyzed it is confirmed that after the individual interventions an increase has showed up in the levels of meeting the needs of love/belonging, power, entertainment and partially need of freedom of all the subjects. Besides, for all the subjects it is observed that the locus of control has internalized and there is also a tendency towards increasing in the levels of responsibility. It is also evaluated that according to the follow-up interviews called follow-up 1 and follow-up 2, the individual intervention is still but partially effective. In addition, it is observed that individual intervention has also positive effects on the lives of the participants in general terms.
