The effects of multiple assessment approach on the writing skill of learners of Turkish as a foreign language

The main purpose of this study is to determine the effects of multiple evaluation approach on the writing skills of Turkish language learners. The population of the study is composed of all learners of Turkish as a foreign language. The sample is composed of 27 students who were selected as control and experimental group at the Gaziantep University Turkish Teaching Application and Research Center (TÖMER) in 2017-2018 academic year. In the research, composition subjects, personal information form and written expression grade scoring key were used. t-test, ANCOVA and covariance analysis were used as the statistical methods for the analysis of the data obtained at the end of the data collection process. As a result of the analysis, statistically significant differences were observed between the two groups in favor of the experimental group. When the whole study was evaluated in general, it became clear that the applications made within the framework of multiple evaluation approach had positive effects on the writing skills of foreign students who were learning Turkish as a foreign language.
