Abstract (EN)
In this thesis, ?Mobile Agent Based Handover? method was developed to provide a seamless handover by using advantages of mobile agent technologies in distributed network structures. Developed method uses mobile discovery agents to collect network information in a home agent. A successful handover of mobile node by using gathered network information was realized. The performance of new method was tested in a real MIPv6 network environment. According to test results, mobile agents do not have negative efffects on packet loads during handover and size of packets does not affect data loss ratio and agent performance. Results confirm that mobile agent based system successfully manages handover process of a mobile node in a MIPv6 network. The Mobile Agent Based Handover method does not need to define an additional new node or to use new header types and it can be applied to a MIPv6 network without additional cost.
