Abstract (EN)
Swirl burners are widely used in different industrial areas nowadays. With eddy flows, the efficiency of combustion reactions can be increased and flame stabilization can be achieved. While heat is obtained as a result of combustion processes, various pollutants such as NOX are also formed. These pollutant emissions pose a threat to living things because they cause air pollution, global warming and acid rain. Various restrictions have been introduced in order to reduce these damages as much as possible. There are various methods to control the NOX emission resulting from the combustion process. In this study, a swirl burner is modelled. Methane and hydrogen were burned with air in the burner and the effects of the distributed combustion technique on flame stabilization and NOX emission were investigated. When the temperature and NOX emissions in the combustion chamber of methane and combustion using CO2 dilution technique between 10%-50% are examined, it is observed that the amount of CO2 introduced to the combustion chamber reduced the temperature and NOX emission.
