Abstract (EN)
In this study, heavy metals and trace elements and total antioxidant capacity of Aegopodium podograria (Mendek) plant from Giresun province have been determined. Five different stationary plant samples from different altitudes were collected between March-May 2016. Collected plant samples were dryed and then extracted by ethanol and methanol. Heavy metals and trace elements were determined by ICP-MS. The total antioxidant capacity of plant extracts was determined according to the ferric thiocyanate method comparing with BHT and trolox known as standard antioxidant. Measurements were made in triplicate for 12 hours. According to ICP-MS method, the highest value of Cr is 6,024 ppm at 3. station, the highest value of Mn is 83,498 ppm at the 5th station, the highest value of Fe is 153.785 ppm at the 5th station, the highest value of Ni is 50,149 ppm at the 5th station, the highest value of Cu is 24,727 ppm at the 3rd station, the highest value of Zn is 105,418 ppm at the 3rd station, the highest value of As is 2,208 ppm in the 1st station, the highest value of Pb is 2,568 ppm in the station 1st. Methanol and ethanol were used as solvent for extraction procedure according to ferric thiocyanate method. Collected samples from stations of 1th, 2th, 4th and 5th had high inhibiton level at 84th hour, whereas the samples from 3rd station had high inhibition level at 96th hour for methanol extracts. However, all stations showed high inhibition for ethanol extracts. It has been determined that Aegopodium podagraria which grows round of Giresun and is widely consumed, has high total antioxidant capacity. When it is collected some regions far from environmental pollution, it can be said that it is confidentaly consumed due to the decrease toxic heavy metal levels. Further investigations are needed about this issue.
