The effect of entrepreneurial tendency on the intention to leave: A research in the textile industry

Entrepreneurship, known as the implementation of new business ideas by taking into account the existing risks, and the intention to leave of employment, known as the decision of business employees, to leave the business where they work in line with their own demands, are the most important issues in the management literature. When the literature related to the subject is examined, it has been determined that there are few studies on entrepreneurial tendency and intention to leave. In this thesis, in the context of the planned behavior theory and reasoned action theory, it is aimed to determine whether the entrepreneurial tendency of textile sector employees have an effect on their intention to leave and to determine whether there is a significant difference between the entrepreneurial tendency and intention to leave according to the demographic characteristics of the employees. For this purpose, data were collected from 277 textile industry employees by using the entrepreneurial tendency scale developed by Ajzen and Fishbein (1991) and the scale of intention to leave developed by Camman, Fichmann etc. (1979). In the analysis process, descriptive statistics analysis, reliability analysis, factor analysis, correlation analysis, t-test, Anova and post-hoc tests, multiple linear regression analysis were used. According to the results of the analysis, it has been determined that the dimensions of entrepreneurial tendency (attitude towards behavior, perceived behavioral control, subjective norm) have a positive and significant effect on the intention to leave.
