Abstract (EN)

Waqf through out history, it has been an institution that connects people and brings them together in the same common denominator. Rooted in İslamic civilization to the Ottoman Empire, this institution provided many social, economic, and cultural services to financially weak people. The Valide Sultans was also the protectress of the foundation, establishing many Hayri and religious work stomeet the basic needs of the people in the Ottoman Empire. Hatice Turhan Sultan, with his compassionate and benevolent personality, has donemany charitable works, and the foundation buildings, starting from various Ottoman cities to Crete, have been a front for the development of the Ottoman Foundation civilization. The waqfs established by Hatice Turhan Sultan in Crete met the social, economic, and cultura needs of both the Ottoman people and the non-Muslim people. In this study, the information obtained from the social and economic evaluation of the foundations stablished by Valide Sultan in Crete tried to presented to the researchers.
