Özet (EN)

Brain tumors form one of the most dramatic types in all diseases. Proliferative activity of tumor or preoperative evaluation of malignancy in brain tumor patients has a very important effect on terapotic strategy. Histological examination performed with Ki?67 index which is proliferation markers can be applied to tumor samples only that are obtained by surgery.Purpose of our study is to research whether estimation of colin (Cho), creatine (Cr), N-Acetile aspartat (NAA), lipid levels that can be measured in brain tumor by MRS ( MR Spectroscopy) and proliferation activities of tumor could be possible, and then compare these levels with the Ki?67 marking index of the tumor sample we have obtained by surgery.30 patients with glioma that have been treated in our clinic between June 2005 and July 2007 were included in this study. Preoperative MRS was applied to all of the 30 patients. Postoperative tumor tissues were painted by immunohistochemical dying method and Ki?67 proliferation index was calculated.Acomplete linear relation has been observed in Ki?67 proliferation index linear regression analysis with the Cho , Cho/Cr, Cho/NAA and lipid values obtained from MRS at the end of the study (p<0.001). Finally, it may be considered that estimation of MRS values we have measured in a glial mass and proliferation activity of the tumor could be possible.
