Özet (EN)

Introduction and Aim: Glomerulonephritis is a disease that may cause renal failure and therefore increases the fear of death, anxiety and depression in patients. Edema, a component of the nephrotic syndrome, affects people's daily life. This study was planned to determine whether proteinuria, the most important prognostic finding of disease severity, is associated with quality of life and depression. Method: Twenty-nine patients who were diagnosed with glomerulonephritis were included in the study by referring to our Hospital Nephrology Clinic. SF-36 and HAD scales were administered at the time of the disease diagnosis, at 3 and 6 months of treatment and follow-up. It was evaluated by comparing with the laboratory parameters examined simultaneously. Result: It was observed that scores obtained from the questionnaires administered during the 3rd and 6th months showed a positive correlation with the HAD score and the amount of protein in the 24-hour urine, and a negative correlation with the scores of the SF-36 subparameters. In the regression analysis performed, it was found that the most effective factor for the depression score between the 3rd and 6th months was the decrease in the amount of protein taken at 24 hours. Conclusion:In adults with glomerulopathy, anxiety scores with low HRQoL and high depression were found. We are worried that the presence of proteinuria is worse and that our study of association with depression and HRQoL will lead to a study with more numbers of patients and different aspects of the study. Key words: Glomerulonephritis, SF-36, HRQoL, HAD, depression, proteinuria.
