Visual communication from Göbeklitepe to Hollywood

The study aims to explain the symbols and narratives in myths that have existed throughout human history, and to evaluate the mythological elements used both visually and narratively in the field of cinema, which reaches large masses, with cultural theoretical approaches. When we anthropologically examine the stories that pass from myth to logos by undergoing changes, we can make inferences about the adventure of humanity. People who need socialization use storytelling as a tool to satisfy this need. The art of cinema occupies a sociologically important place with its ability to reach large masses. According to the arguments of the article, social human beings, who need narratives, see symbols that are in the codes of cultural evolution and have their roots in mythology in movies. Cinema, which relives some lost feelings and thoughts, gives back to human beings what it has taken from them. The mythological symbol area focused on in the study will be Göbeklitepe, which changes the known facts of the Neolithic Age. Göbeklitepe is the physical and spiritual meeting place of different human communities and contains many symbols. Despite emerging in different environments and under different conditions, human stories with the same evolutionary codes take place in cinema as in Göbeklitepe. The theoretical framework of the study consists of thinkers from different disciplines, motion pictures and cultural theoretical inferences.
