Abstract (EN)

Since the 1980s in Turkey, investments and incentives for the development of international tourism movements have increased the tourism volume of Alanya, like many holiday resorts, and made it an important tourism city. Alanya, which has an important position in Turkey in international tourism movements, is also a tourism city where international migration movements are directed. Foreigners who spend their holiday in Alanya settle down after a while and carry out international migration movements. German immigrants have always created a remarkable profile among the foreigners staying as immigrants in the holiday region where they come as tourists. Until recent years, the Germans have always been in the first place among the foreigners who obtained a residence permit in Alanya. In this study, the position of retired/elderly immigrants in the process of transforming tourism activities into international migration movements was questioned by revealing the demographic, socio-economic characteristics and adaptation processes of German immigrants who settled in Alanya with the survey method. The reasons for German immigrants to prefer Alanya and their migration processes and the socio-economic and cultural impact of immigrants on Alanya were analyzed with a geographical understanding.
