Press coverage of turks forced to migrate from their homeland on Turkish printed media

Until recently, like many other communities, Ahiska Turks and Crimean Tatars have always tried to live in different geographies apart from their own homeland in a vicious circle that can be expressed as "forced migration". In 1944, they were suddenly removed from their homeland by the Soviet leader Stalin without any reason and placed in the lands of Central Asia, which they had never seen before. They have faced many socio-cultural problems, especially economic, in the land they were forced to live. In particular, the Ahiska Turks have faced various problems in the countries they migrated and continued to migrate to other countries. As mentioned, "forced migration" in question has brought with it a number of problems such as political, social, economic etc... Certainly, the most important problem they faced is; where they migrated, they were asked to give up their Turkish identity in order to obtain many human rights, especially the right to housing. A clear assimilation policy has been implemented against the Crimean and Ahiska Turks and they have faced the danger of losing their own values. At this point, they have always tried to find solutions to return their homeland. As the research subject, this study aims to analyze how Turks in question struggle to obtain the right to return their homeland which they are exposed to migrate, especially to be heard in international platforms? What happened between the years 1991-1999 when the Turks legally obtained the right to return their homeland? How much Turks could be return? Did any news about their return took place in the Turkish newspapers? In order to measure the relevance of the Turkish newspapers about the return of Turks in question and in order to provide concrete, numerical data, an archive survey was conducted on the selected 3-day newspaper and it was tried to shed light on this period. As a result, in addition to books, journals and various article on the academic level, the literature which were written directly by Crimean and Ahiska Turks, has also been examined. Besides, all developments in the process of return to the their homeland, as reflected in the press, has been tried to put forward.
