Social rights of migrant domestic workers

After years of 1980's, increasing international migration, new social, economical and structural process had led to the notion of women migrating to work in private households. Most of these women are employed with no social protection. The fact that domestic work is not perceived as a real job and is often accomplished invisibly, these women's vulnerability increases. This reality reflects the new neoliberal policies and its effect on cheap workforce but also the role of the woman in the society. State's perpective to immigration, their economical and social politics and the status of migrant workers play an important role in the recognition of social and human rights of migrant domestic workers.
