Abstract (EN)

In recent years, the phenomenon of immigrant entrepreneurship has become one of the attractive subject in the literature.This study stands on a research that has been made on one of the powerful case in the immigrant entrepreneurship literature: Balkan-based immigrant entrepreneurs. The study that has been made with 14 Balkan-based entrepreneurs who have been active in the city of Sakarya and Istanbul examines three main subjects:-How the entrepreneurs find an environment that offers all requirements for entrepreneurial activities,-Entrepreneurial history of the entrepreneurs,-The reasons that make them entrepreneur.This study has three chapters. In the first chapter; the notions of entrepreneur, entrepreneurship, culture and its impact on entrepreneurship has been mentioned. The second chapter starts with the notion of immigration and its variety, then the immigrations from the Balkans and their reasons have been elaborated. Also the definitions of immigrant entrepreneurship, its development phases, models and contributions has been examined in this chapter. In the last chapter; the research that has been made on Balkan-based entrepreneurs who has been active in Turkey has been discussed.According to the study; the majority of the entrepreneurs has been influenced by push factors especially financial reasons.
